ETS 2026-01 起把 TOEFL 改为 1.0–6.0 新分制，官方换算旧 100 = 新 5.0，但 MIT 自己尚未发布新分制等效声明，FAQ 页面仍是纯旧制文字。且 FAQ 列出的三条豁免条件他一条都不满足（小学至中学非英语授课、未在英语国家学习或工作满 3 年、学位授予机构非英语授课）。申请人计划重考到新分制 5.0–5.5。

招生机制: MIT EECS 是明确的委员会制。官方 FAQ 用一句话把套磁的天花板钉死：入学前教授不能跟你谈钱、也不能谈是否带你。所以邮件唯一能买到的东西是「让他去读你的材料」，买不到任何承诺。个别老师明文欢迎技术性邮件（Nigam、Alizadeh），也有老师明文禁止（Kraska）。真正起作用的动作不是发信，而是在 SOP 里点名。
判断: 结论：MIT 的精力不该花在写长套磁信上，该花在（a）SOP 里点名，（b）推荐信，（c）过语言线。三件事的权重排序有官方依据：Leslie Kaelbling 在系里那篇 "What faculty members are looking for" 里逐字说 "the most important thing in an application is the best letter of recommendation, by a large margin"（A）。以他的情形，Zhihao Jia 的信是这一列里最硬的资产。
套磁只对两类人有明确正收益：Nigam（明文列出会回什么邮件）和 Alizadeh（明文让点名）。Kraska 那种明文禁止的必须尊重。

⚠️ 新旧分制换算（重要更新）：ETS 2026-01 起把 TOEFL iBT 从 0–120 分制改为 1.0–6.0 分制（四项各 1–6 分，总分取四项均值再四舍五入到半分档），过渡期（2026–2028）新旧分制并行展示。ETS 官方换算表（ets.org/toefl 的 score-scale-update 页，B——机构指引，非 MIT 自家页面）：旧 100 = 新 5.0，旧 90 = 新 4.5，旧 80 = 新 4.0。按此换算，MIT EECS 逐字写的「iBT 100」对应新分制门槛应为 5.0，申请人现有成绩对应新制 4.5，仍差半档（0.5 分）。
MIT EECS 自己尚未发布任何新分制等效声明或更新版 FAQ（2026-08-18 抓取时页面仍是纯旧制数字，未见 1–6 分制文字）——ETS 的换算是行业通用指引，不是 MIT 官方对本项目门槛的重新定义，两者不能等同视之，需持续盯 FAQ 页面是否更新。
豁免只有三条，逐字："The student's main language of instruction was English in their primary and secondary schools (i.e., from age 6 through age 18)" / "The student has been studying or working in the U.S. (or another country where English is an official language) for three or more years" / "The student has earned a degree from an accredited institution where English is the main language of instruction" —— 他三条都不满足（CMU 暑研两个月远不到三年，浙大学位非英语授课）。→ 行动项：申请人计划重考，目标新分制 5.0–5.5（对应旧制 100–105 一档，留出安全余量而非卡线擦过）；若 MIT 届时仍按旧制 100 收口，5.0 刚好达标，5.5 留冗余；
若 MIT 采纳 ETS 换算且不做四舍五入宽松处理，5.0 是最低达标线。IELTS 7 / Duolingo 130 是备选路径。FAQ 页面没有任何个案豁免通道的文字，「有没有暗通道」属 UNVERIFIED，不要靠猜。
